The sample design is based on the principle of stratified cut-off random sampling. \nFirst universe is divided into 22 industry-strata and each industry-stratum is sub divided into several size-strata. In an industry stratum all establishments above a particular size (defined as the cut-off point) are included in the sample and suitable fractions are sampled from lower size strata, such that the total sample will be optimum in size, ie. roughly about the smallest needed to give estimates with a pre-determined degree of precision which was fixed at 5% error at 95% confidence interval for total unemployment.\n\nThe details of the sample surveyed in 1974 are given in the following Table 1 of the of the statistical Appendix of the attached Report in the External Resources Section","coll_mode":["Face-to-face [f2f]"],"coll_situation":"The survey had to face many practical difficulties mainly inadequate of staff and equipment.
